POTTERY TEACHERS - RECOMMENDED BRUSH LIST

These specially selected brushes for ceramic painting cover a range of 7x brushes - most of them from China.

Chinese Background Staining brush 2" size, a wide wash brush of goat hair.

Golden top & Purple peak no.2, a large horse hair brush, any of the sizes 1, 2 or 3 will do a similar job.

Selected no.3 goat hair, a medium to large size soft hair round pointed brush.

Bat Wan/White Cloud extra large, a 2 hair brush, inside is a brown springy hair to hold the brush shape straight, outside is soft goat hair - which acts as a reservoir to carry extra ink.

Dim Mui, translates as Plum Blossom painting brush, these flowers have short round stubby petals. Dim Mui uses wolf hair, a type of hair with similar characteristics and uses to sable hair brushes.

Yee Man, translates as Clothes Crease painting brush, a semi fine line from wolf hair is painted.

Dagger brush size No.2, extra, extra long hair - shaped like a dagger blade, used for continuous long thin line painting.
