Chinese Brush Stands
Caring for your Chinese Brushes

Our range of brush stands shown below all use the brushes hanging loop, to the benefit of the brush. If you have been given a gift of a brush, or brushes, purchase one of these stands to store and show off your collection.

A LARGE WOOD BRUSH STANDs, FOR 14 OR 18 BRUSHES

Here is the best way to care for your Chinese/Japanese brushes. By hanging them on the silk cord loop on the brush handles end. This allows a brush to dry after use without endangering the ferrule end socket. The hair is glued into the ferrule socket using animal glue, as such this is water soluble, if left to soak for many hours.

(A brush that has been cleaned after use and then left on its side or with the hair upward in a holder, will thus allow extra water to seep into the socket and weaken this glue).

The left side picture (above) has a brush stand carved to look like bamboo and finished in a rosewood varnished colour. It takes 14 brushes with 7 on each side.

The right side picture (above) has a brush stand is carved with a Dragon style and finished in a rosewood varnished colour. It takes 18 brushes with 9 on each side.

The cost of this stand is
AUD$132.95 each boxed.
