These unfolding bamboo fans with blank paper are ready for any kind of artwork. Chinese & Japanese have used them for centuries for their painting arts, as well as for cooling down. We can use them similarly – But here is a creative use you may not have thought of ---

Why not have a calligrapher write on them and use them as menus or place cards at a function or your wedding, or have your favourite short poem written on each flute.

We have experienced staff who can write both Western calligraphy and Chinese/Japanese calligraphy characters.

P.S Our Chinese/Japanese calligraphy has a larger application than just these fans.

White paper Bamboo Fans with Sprung/Bowed handles in 2 sizes
These smart looking snap folding bamboo fans have bright white paper. The flutes are larger than most folding fans, and will allow writing by calligraphy or brush. The wide style of the semi-card used for the fans flutes and the bowed bamboo handle allows the fan to snap closed or open.
The smaller size fan is 18cm long and approx' 30cm when opened. We sell this model for AUD$5.50 each.
The larger size fan is 23cm long and approx' 36cm when opened. We sell this model for AUD$7.80 each.

Fans in (Imitation) Sandlewood with carved flutes
Take a look at these beautifully carved fans. Made of IMITATION Sandlewood, they are a delight to look at - and fan with!
LARGE SIZE
Intricate wood carving is repeated on each flute of the fan, there is a "Rose" flower and lace like pattern in the fine cutout lace carving. The fan size is 355mm when open and 205mm long when closed.

There is room for calligraphy, but it will only fit on the wood edge of the fan.

This size of fans sell for AUD$2.80 each.

MID-PRICED QUALITY BAMBOO WITH WHITE PAPER FANS

A quality fan, 30cm long when closed. The white paper is sized for fine line work (non-bleeding).

The plain bamboo has a polished finish
and is sturdily made.

When fully open the fan measures 50cm across.
The cost is AUD$15.00 each

Red bamboo handle fans with red paper flutes

THIS MODEL ALL SOLD OUT - SORRY A red bamboo fan which is 30cm top to bottom (when closed). It is easily hand held, and has red paper. This type of fan looks best with added calligraphy brush work, for a celebration announcement or award.

The wood is bamboo with a dark red colour, with the paper flutes in bright red. When open the fan measures 50cm across. The cost per fan is AUD$2.95 each

Large fans in red bamboo - with red paper flutes
A large fan which is 51cm top to bottom (when closed). Ideal for a wall display, or with added calligraphy brush work, for a celebration announcement or award.

The wood is bamboo with a dark red colour, with the paper flutes in bright red. When open the fan measures 90cm across. The cost per fan is AUD$18.36 each


Silk Drum Fans with Wood handle and silk tassle in large and small sizes

SMALL SIZE - painted
The fan size is a 150mm diameter round drum shaped, with a small bamboo wood handle in black, 80mm long. The edges of the fan are bound in coloured brocade silk, this covers the thick wire that the painting silk is stretched across, which makes the silk surface tight - like a drum.

A painted design in Oriental style is on each silk surface. We can write a small amount of Calligraphy on these if you wish, please order by email & enquire about pricing.

These fans sell for AUD$3.40 each.

# A LARGER VERSION IS AVAILABLE
It has the similar style painted subject matter and is 23cm in size. These sell for AUD$4.50 each.

LARGE SIZE - blank
These fans are sold blank, without any artwork on them. If you are good at Chinese painting or Calligraphy, then here is the ideal way to use your art, on the stretched plain silk surface. The fan size is 260mm diameter, with the height including the handle at 385mm. The edges of the fan are bound in coloured brocade silk, this covers the thick wire that the painting silk is stretched across, which makes the silk surface tight - like a drum. Wooden handles with bamboo design and a colourful silk tassle finish the fan.

After your added artwork is finished, these are usable as a fan, or can decorate a wall etc.

Each fan costs AUD$15.00 each.

We can arrange for Chinese Calligraphy, Western Calligraphy, or Chinese Painting work to be commissioned on these fans to your order. A few samples are shown in the picture.



Parasols - Chinese style umbellas
Parasols, portable, easy to use, shading from the hot sun.

Made from wood in the Chinese style of umbrella, they have bright coloured see-through fine nylon coverings - looks like silk, some are plain coloured in Red, Orange, Pink or White, and some with various painted designs of Plum blossoms, Bamboo and flowers.

The size when closed is 580mm long, with an opened diameter of 845mm.

The size when closed is approximately 390mm long, with an opened diameter of approximately 520mm.

Quality Fans for professional painting or calligraphy
These fans are sold blank, without any artwork on them. If you are a good Chinese painter or Calligrapher, then here is the ideal way to use your art. After your added artwork is finished, these are usable as a fan, or can be framed and decorate a wall etc.
An all black fan, the sturdily made bamboo is black and highly polished, with black paper flutes.
The fan measures 33cm when closed, and is 60cm wide when fully opened.
The cost is AUD$28.00 each
